There is nothing better than arriving home after an especially blah Monday to find a box full of your favorite things on your counter. Miss Connie over at Smitten Foodie may have just boxed up all my the things I love better than I could have done myself, and to think, she doesn’t even formally know me.
Connie is from the Pacific Northwest and chose to showcase her neck of the woods in choosing my treats for the foodie penpal exchange (any interested participants should click the link and sign up for next month’s exchange). I think a trip out west is in serious order. Hey Connie, might you have a room in your home for me?!Inside my box:
1 loaf of Williamette Valley Organice Seeded Bread (super hearty and grainy)
1 box apple pomegranate tea
2 Almond Roca chocolate toffees (which didn’t make it past day 1)
2 Gold Dates dark chocolate caramel almond bars (super rich and filling)
1 jar of Perdy Pickly Company bread and butter pickles (which are incredible and I don’t usually go bread/butter route)
1 tin of Pacific Northwest tuna (super fresh and real)
1 Johnny’s seasoning salt (I foresee popcorn, and lots of it)
1 box of Liberty Orchards Aplets & Cotlets candy (like Turkish Delight only infinitely better and very fruity!)
I was like a kid on Christmas. I literally sat surrounded in my goods deciding what to open first. Then I had a light bulb moment + “I’m an adult, I do what I want” moment at once.
I made a tuna salad sandwich using the tuna, seasoning salt, pickles and some pantry staples and served it on my new bread. I washed it all down with a mug of tea and one toffee + 1 Aplet & Cotlet candy.
I may have snuck back in for another toffee an hour later…
